A middle-aged woman, Toyin Akinrosotu, was on Monday arrested by the police in Idanre, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, after allegedly causing the fatal fall of an infant strapped on the back of its mother.

Drilling a single borehole in Abuja averages N1.5 million. A
hydrology firm told Premium Times that amount should cover drilling and casing,
installation of a solar-powered submersible pump, steel tower for the tanks,
tanks, pipes, joints & suckers, installation and labour.
The firm allowed an expanded estimate of N10 million if a
water treatment facility is included alongside other optional accessories.

Ikorodu Bank Robbery Suspects Drag Police To Court
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria has
adjourned till September 7, 2015 for hearing, a suit seeking an order of the
court compelling the police to bring to court the four robbery suspects paraded
in connection with the recent bank robbery in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The court adjourned the case to enable the Inspector General
of Police and other respondents react to the suit filed by a Lagos-based
lawyer, Olusegun Akanbi, on behalf of the four suspects.
The suspects – Agbojule Bright, Promise Abiwa, Monday
Omoboye and Monday Ikuesan, on July 6, 2015 were paraded by the police in
connection with the robbery of the Ipakodo branches of First Bank and Zenith
Bank in Ikorodu, where an 18-man gang, which they allegedly belonged to, carted
away about N80m on June 24, 2015.

reference number, NJC/S.29/HC.OS/16/1/55, against Justice Oloyede upon a
petition by a mother of four, Mrs. Emily Richard-Obire, who accused the judge
of cohabiting with her (Richard-Obire’s) husband.

Baba Sala Discharged From Hospital As Son Thanks Fans On Facebook
80-year old comedian and actor, Baba Sala has been
discharged from the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan after spending eight
days at the hospital when he was rushed there last week Monday from Osun State.
The actor was discharged around 3.47pm this afternoon, Monday, 24th
of August, 2015. One of his sons who has been keeping journalists and fans updated
on his health took to his Facebook page to announce he has been discharged.
“To the glory of God, my daddy has been discharged from the
hospital today (Monday). Want to use this opportunity to thank all friends and
fans of my daddy for the love, care and concerns. He actually thanks everyone
for all comments and love,” he wrote.

Geregu - Itobe Road on 23rd August, 2015 at about 4:30am intercepted an earlier
reported snatched Toyota Yaris vehicle. The vehicle was earlier snatched in
Abuja by three armed men.

Chief Matron Of Lagos Assembly Found Dead In Office
The Chief Matron of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs.
Caroline Oriola, has been found dead in her office. Oriola was found dead this
morning when a cleaner who had gone to clean the clinic before others resumed
found her corpse.
It was learnt from some staff that the Chief Matron had gone
to her office on Saturday to pick some drugs. She allegedly drove her car
to the Assembly complex, parked at the lawmakers’ car park, before proceeding
to her office. She was also said to have put on the air conditioner in her
office and backed the door. At the moment, no one knows what led to her death.

Man Rapes Own Daughters, Step-Daughter In Lekki (Pictured)
The police in Lagos have arrested a man, Ajiboye Oluwaseyi,
for allegedly raping his two daughters ─ a six-year-old and a four-year-old ─
and his stepdaughter, 15, in the Lekki area of the state.
Our correspondent gathered that 37-year-old Oluwaseyi, who
hails from Ondo State, was arrested on Wednesday, August 19, after his wife
reported the matter to the police.
It was learnt that Oluwaseyi, who worked as a Lotto agent,
had separated from his wife in December 2014.

The immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde
Fashola, spent N139m on the drilling of two boreholes at the Lagos House,
Ikeja. The project was completed by Deux Projects Limited according
to a report published by the state government
The report, which was part of the awarded contracts by the
Lagos State Tenders Board in 2013, was seen on the website of the Lagos State
Public Procurement Agency.
In the same year, N640m was spent by the Fashola
administration for the reconstruction of a car park and other associated works
at the Lagos House, Marina. The report stated that the N640m contract was given
to Julius Berger Plc as part of phase two of the reconstruction of Lagos House
where Fashola lived during his eight years in government.

I was sitting in the back row, waiting for the last
passenger to arrive and suddenly, I heard a heated argument between the
conductor and the supposed passenger. The lady was objecting to the conductor
sitting beside her as the actual number of passengers per row is supposed to be
four, but unknown to her, the conductor has to sit on that row with the already
seated four passengers.
The conductor told her calmly, “Madam, na five dey sit down
here”. On hearing this, she flared up, “What do you mean? Do you think we are
sardines, what kind of inhumane act is that?
Obafemi Martins Tells Oliseh, Let Me Play For Nigeria Again
Obafemi Martins has asked the new Super Eagles coach if he

Martins said Sunday Oliseh has all it takes to coach the team and urged him to

Mrs Omogbene Adeborile, 65, the the mother-in-law to Oba Fredrick
Obateru-Akinruntan, the Olugbo of Ugboland, has been kidnapped in Igbotako,
Ondo State. Adeborile was abducted on Saturday at her residence in Igbotako,
Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State at about 10:00 p.m.
Adeborile who is also the wife of Chief Babatunde Adeborile,
Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Igbotako Ward II , was carted away by at
least eight gunmen.
Oba Akinruntan who was ranked the second richest monarch in
Africa and first in Nigeria is believed to be worth around $300 million. He is
also the founder of Obat Oil, one of Nigeria’s largest privately-held oil
trading companies.

After being out of contract for about 4 months, since being
released by Turkish Club, Bursaspor in April, Taye Taiwo has now signed a new
deal, but a short-term one, with Finnish league leaders HJK Helsinki which will
last till the end of the season, the club announced today.
“He has a very interesting history, and very few players
from top European clubs have played in Finland,” HJK sporting director Tuomo
Saarnio said of his new signing, who has over 50 caps for Nigeria
